QUANTIFYING GEOMETRIC CHANGES IN BIM-GIS CONVERSION

چکیده
Abstract. A conversion process is often carried out to migrate data during BIM and GIS integration, from the highly detailed less environment. Due differences between two systems, information loss occurs conversion. While research has been focusing on addressing semantics, it also necessary quantify geometric changes resulted converting geometry representations used in systems. This paper describes a preliminary study which evaluates for list of primitives. The outcome shows that metrics are useful both those carrying balance potential resulting complexity, end users converted assess fitness purpose impact results.

Quantifying changes in geometric distortion across a gradient coil replacement
Introduction: Gradient coils may be replaced on MRI systems as part of hardware upgrades or as a result of hardware failure. These events could introduce a step change in longitudinal quantitative neuro-imaging studies. Gradient winding errors cause even nominally identical gradient coils to differ in their field. Additionally the precise alignment of the gradient coil in the magnet and the act...
متن کاملTowards an Integration of Gis and Bim Data: What Are the Geometric and Topological Issues?
Geographic information and building information modelling both model buildings and infrastructure, but the way in which they are modelled is usually complimentary and BIM-GIS integration is widely considered as a way forward for both domains. For one, more detailed BIM data can feed more general GIS data and GIS data can provide the context that is necessary to BIM data. While previous studies ...
متن کاملMulti-scale geometric-semantic modeling of linear infrastructure facilities for GIS and BIM applications
The planning of large infrastructure facilities such as inner-city subway tracks requires the consideration of widely differing scales, ranging from the kilometer scale for the general routing of the track down to the centimeter scale for detailed design of connection points. On the one hand this implies the utilization of both, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as well as Building Informati...

متن کاملBIM-GIS modelling in support of emergency response applications
Building Information Modelling (BIM) provides a detailed 3D geometrical model with rich semantics which go beyond the standard Computer-Aided Design approach. In contrast, Geography Information Science (GIS) offers powerful spatial analytical tools. This paper seeks to propose and innovative research approach integrating some aspects of BIM and advanced GIS analysis. This may lead into beyond s...
